Robert E. Engles, Jr., MD
Dr. Robert E. Engles, Jr, is a board-certified vascular surgeon who has dedicated his career to caring for patients across Central Alabama since 1997. He brings over 25 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vascular diseases, combining advanced medical knowledge with a compassionate approach to care.
Dr. Engles graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine before completing his General Surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Florida. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine, Surgical Clerkship Director, and Surgical Site Director for the UAB Heersink School of Medicine’s General Surgery Residency Program - Montgomery Campus.
He has received numerous teaching awards, including multiple UAB Argus Awards and Best Educator Awards, recognizing his passion for mentoring future physicians. His areas of expertise include venous disease, limb salvage, carotid artery disease, and complex endovascular interventions.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Engles enjoys spending time at the lake, traveling and being with his family. His warm, patient-centered approach and commitment to excellence make him a trusted physician throughout the Montgomery community.
